Research/Inspiration
I chose this typeface for its bold, modern look, which aligns with the contemporary poets featured in the event. Its readability and simplicity make it a strong choice for conveying the clarity of their work. The yellow, red, and teal palette represents the poets and what they stand for. Red symbolizes Orchid's focus on environmental degradation because it represents danger or urgency. Yellow represents Heid E's focus on nature and Native American traditions because it symbolizes sunlight, harvest, or the land. Teal represents the introspective and meditative qualities in Hussain's work, which often delves into personal memory, identity, and cultural displacement. Together, they reflect the diverse emotions in the poetry. The cage texture represents themes of confinement and freedom, adding depth and tension to the design while complementing the clean lines of the typeface.
